BFC has partnered with Challenger Enterprises, a provider of forklift maintenance and services, to create Guardian Battery Management Systems.

Guardian provides a service to warehouse operators to control the management of their fleet of batteries. Guardian effectively monitors battery performance in forklifts, and in chargers. The system provides for proper FIFO rotation of batteries to insure maximum lift and run time in forklifts. The system also tracks and maintains records on each battery to provide a history for warranty issues.

Savings are significant in two specific areas, maximizing battery efficiency and eliminating wasted time in line changing batteries. Both areas reduce the number of battery changes due to under performing batteries and increase productivity by insuring maximum lift from properly charged and maintained battery life.

Guardian is an Application Service Provider (ASP). This means the software to manage the batteries resides on the Guardian server. There is no software resident on a local server.

The benefits of using the software as an ASP are significant:The user does not need to have a server for the software. The software is managed by Guardian. Updates to the software are managed by Guardian. Training is required for the operator, no systems operator is required.

The reports are generated on the Guardian server Reports can be accessed by any authorized user via an internet connection. Regular reports are delivered automatically to key personnel via E-mail.
