We are seeking an experienced SQL Server Administrator with a strong background in database management and T-SQL development to join our team. The ideal candidate will have approximately 5 years of hands-on experience in designing, developing, and maintaining SQL Server databases, with a proven ability to troubleshoot complex issues and adapt to new technologies. This role requires a proactive problem-solver with a passion for learning and optimizing database systems to support business objectives.


Key Responsibilities
- Perform database administration tasks, including backups, restores, indexing, and security management.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database performance issues, connectivity problems, and application bottlenecks.
- Design, develop, and maintain SQL Server databases, ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Write, optimize, and debug complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and functions.
- Collaborate with developers and business stakeholders to design data models and implement solutions that meet business needs.
- Stay current with emerging database technologies and best practices, applying new knowledge to improve systems and processes.
- Document database structures, processes, and troubleshooting steps for team reference and compliance.

Key Skills and Qualifications
Technical Expertise:
- Approximately 5 years of experience in SQL Server administration.
- Approximately 3 years of experience in SQL Server development, including SSIS (ETL or ELT).
- Advanced proficiency in T-SQL development, including writing and optimizing complex and efficient queries, stored procedures, and triggers.
- Strong knowledge of SQL Server database design, normalization, and performance tuning.
- Experience with SQL Server tools such as SSMS (SQL Server Management Studio) and SSIS (Integration Services).
- Familiarity with database performance and security best practices.

Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: 
- Strong ability to diagnose and resolve database performance issues, deadlocks, and errors.
- Experience analyzing query execution plans and optimizing inefficient code.
- Strong analytical skills to identify root causes and implement effective solutions under pressure.

Learning and Adaptability: 
- Demonstrated knack for quickly learning new functionality with new releases of SQL Server.
- Ability to adapt to evolving business requirements and incorporate modern database practices.
- Curiosity and initiative to explore innovative approaches to database management and development.

Additional Qualifications:
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality, maintainable solutions with good, consistent performance.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with cloud-based database platforms (e.g., AWS EC2 or Azure).
- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation is a plus.
- Certifications such as Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA): SQL Server is a plus.
