BFC Open Position:

Product Manager, Replenishment Optimizer

Job Title: Product Manager, Replenishment Optimizer – US Remote
‍Location: US Remote

Position Summary

Help food and beverage distributors buy the right product at the right time. We're looking for a Product Manager to own Replenishment Optimizer (RO), our demand forecasting and replenishment product, and to shape its next generation. We'll set the level for this role based on your experience and fit.

You'll set RO's strategy, roadmap and measures of success, working directly with buyers and distribution leaders to understand how they plan and purchase. This individual contributor role is RO's first dedicated product management position, with room to grow into leading the product line. You'll partner closely with Engineering, Sales, Customer Success, Professional Services and Marketing. This position is remote and reports to the Director of Product Management at BFC.

About the Team

Replenishment Optimizer, known to many customers as HIMPACT, forecasts demand and recommends what to order and when for distributors of food, food service, beverage and grocery products. Our customers sell perishable product on thin margins. Their buyers manage large item catalogs from many vendors, and every order balances shelf life, vendor deals and promotions, seasonal swings in demand, and delivery schedules the vendor sets. Buying too little costs sales and customer trust. Buying too much ties up cash and ends in spoilage. RO joined BFC Software in 2024 with the acquisition of Herlitz Inventory Management. It sits alongside BFC's warehouse, transportation and delivery products as part of one connected platform for food distribution.

Who You Are

You are an experienced product leader who can take a complex operational problem and turn it into a product strategy with a clear business case. Experience in distribution or supply chain helps but isn't required. You'll need the curiosity to learn a new industry quickly. You:

  • Learn the domain fast. You get close to the people doing the work and quickly understand how they decide what to buy, when, and how much inventory is enough.
  • Deliver measurable impact. You have shipped decision-support or optimization products and can show their value in dollars.
  • Make the big calls. You have led a product through a major modernization or replatform and lived with the result.
  • Think like a business owner. You weigh revenue, retention, cost to serve and customer impact together.
  • Build to learn. You test ideas early with real users, use AI tools to move faster, and change course when the evidence says to.
  • Communicate clearly. You can explain a hard trade-off to a buyer, an engineer and an executive, and build alignment without direct authority.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Own RO's strategy, roadmap and measurable objectives, including the direction for its next generation.
  • Spend regular time with customers, prospects and buyers to learn how they plan and purchase, and turn what you learn into clear problem statements.
  • Define how RO's value is measured for customers, such as inventory reduction, service level and buyer time saved, and put the product data in place to track it.
  • Partner with Engineering from discovery through release, making clear decisions about scope, sequencing and what not to build.
  • Work with Sales and Marketing on positioning, packaging and pricing, and prepare customer-facing teams to sell, implement and support new capabilities.
  • Find where RO and BFC's warehouse products create more value together.
  • Move RO toward automating routine replenishment decisions, with buyer review where judgment or risk calls for it.

Expected Education & Experience

  • 5+ years of product management experience, including end-to-end ownership of a B2B software product, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience building products that support operational planning or decisions, such as supply chain, inventory, logistics or ERP software.
  • Experience with enterprise software that requires significant implementation, and with pricing, packaging and business cases.
  • Technical fluency to work through data models, integrations and cloud architecture with engineers.
  • Experience in replenishment, inventory planning, demand forecasting or purchasing, especially in food, beverage, grocery or another perishable supply chain, is a plus.
  • Experience with forecasting or machine learning in production, or with ERP and warehouse management integrations, is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
